While it was all about a sleek and polished ponytail at Charlotte Ronson, Rebecca Minkoff focused on a distressed bun that is suggestive of an evening out and loving my updo so much that I slept in it, then had to  run out and meet our friends Tara & Paul for brunch. Both styles were created by TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu.

There was a whole lotta red lip backstage and I absolutely loved it. I am convinced I can’t pull off the red lip – I spent about two hours in Sephora trying on every brand from YSL to NARS to Illamasqua – but, perhaps with the assistance of Tara (a red lip goddess) she’ll be able to find a shade that doesn’t make me look like an old lady. (Update: she is now on a mission to do so.)

Violet is back in a big way from eyeshadow to these black-tipped violet manicures from Color Club, which I’m going to try out today after a little afternoon yoga.
