BACKSTAGE AT CHARLOTTE RONSON & REBECCA MINKOFF

Both styles were created by TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu.

There was a whole lotta red lip backstage and I absolutely loved it. I am convinced I can’t pull off the red lip – I spent about two hours in Sephora trying on every brand from YSL to NARS to Illamasqua – but, perhaps with the assistance of Tara (a red lip goddess) she’ll be able to find a shade that doesn’t make me look like an old lady. (Update: she is now on a mission to do so.)

Violet is back in a big way from eyeshadow to these black-tipped violet manicures from Color Club, which I’m going to try out today after a little afternoon yoga.

Finding your own unique style and determining what it means to you is one of the most liberating ways of personally expressing oneself.

Style means different things to all people. For me style is something that I discovered only after lots of trials and tribulations. It took years of trying different trends, patterns and colors, as well as shopping online, in thrift stores, independent boutiques and department stores to realize what I find most liberating is allowing myself the freedom to rediscover my style again and again.

I’ve always loved all the elements of style, and being inspired by the beauty of the world around me. I consider fashion to be an art form, and have a strong appreciation and love for industries outside of this world, like architecture, interior design, history and photography. I created StyleBomb as my way of sharing elements of culture, New York and the world, which I find the most interesting. It is an open environment built on the aesthetics of a collection of things I’ve tried, loved and lusted after, while searching for brands that I feel are breaking the mold.
