“You Remind Me Of …”
“A neon Liberace!” Truth be told, I wear way too much color, print and sequins, but it’s those pieces that get me most excited when I first open my closet in the morning. Thanks Jes Barkan for pointing out that the flamboyant pianist is quite possibly my fashion spirit animal.

My official song of summer
Neon Pink Sunglasses, Fancy Water and Can’t Wait Cornwall
Hooray! It’s finally May, and it’s a beautiful day here in NYC, a perfect time to write about my new favorite things. Normally I would yap about dresses, sandals, or my next white bag obsession, but with London less than three months away, I’m focused on a adding a few key staples to my overseas repertoire.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Duo Mat Powder Foundation My skin gets really shiny throughout the day, and I’m not a fan of most foundations, but I swear by this product. It’s the only long-lasting powder that provides even coverage without a chalky residue. It’s amazing, and I plan on bringing over a billion cases!
Westward Leaning 9.6 Color Revolution White Matte & Hot Pink Mirrored Sunglasses I’ve been budgeting like crazy to save up money for the perfect London flat, but I splurged on some new sunglasses for the summer and these are absolutely divine. Expect many Instagrams of me rocking these shades throughout the season.
Weft & Warp ‘Rachel’ Evil Eye Scarf I definitely drink the “lucky evil eye” Kool-Aid, so falling in love with this digitally printed style was easy. Plus, it doubles as a wall tapestry!
Zing Anything Citrus Zinger I bought one a few weeks ago and it goes with me everywhere. This bright little bottle might be the best water invention since the Soda Stream, and it’s a great conversation starter.
Rimowa Salsa Air Suitcases Reading one glowing review after another, I finally ponied up for these legendary suitcases. I’m impressed, at about 7lbs they’re perfect for holding those billion cases of Duo Mat.
Cornwall I’ve wanted to check out this seaside town for years and I’m beyond thrilled that I get to venture out that way. I plan on staying at The Tide House, a chic and cozy inn right in the heart of St. Ives.
Ouidad Melt-down Extreme Repair Mask This deep conditioning treatment is a magic potion for my ultra dry ends and makes my hair ridiculously soft. It’s perfect for taming my mane while I seek out an amazing new stylist in London.
Entering the Shark Xing
As far as creatures of the night go, I find sharks to be the most intriguing and stealthy of the bunch. My fascination with the finned bossman began as a kid and intensified after a close encounter with a blacktip shark a decade ago. During the past year I’ve built a collection of shark ‘memorabilia’: a shark-print clutch from Samudra and metallic gold shark tooth earrings from C.Wonder and chain necklace from BaubleBar – they remind me that there’s always bigger fish to fry.
The Sunday Blues

This has become my Sunday ensemble, without realizing it, I wore the exact same outfit two weekends in a row. I can blame it on the Current/Elliott jeans, they’re so comfortable I could wear them to bed. What’s your weekend warrior outfit?

March Madness: Glow-In-The-Dark Earrings, Comic Slippers and A Hot Pink Lava Clutch

Holy bananas! I can’t believe it’s almost April. As I’m getting prepared for the big move and making tough adult decisions, such as cutting off my shopping spending entirely and selling half of my closet on eBay, I still can’t keep my excitement at bay for all the super cool accessories around.

This past month I’ve been doing some serious cleaning, so much that literally half of our apartment is dedicated to boxes stacked of donations. I’ve been making it a point to only keep things that I find special and truly resonate with my style (ahem, I mean our style). Through this process, I noticed that the pieces I’m holding onto are splashed in color, or my signature neutral, white. As part of this new movement, I decided to get rid of a dark wood side table I clung onto, despite the other pieces in the set being sold off over the years. Perhaps, I associated the table with my own coming of age, moving to Miami at age 20 and buying what I would now consider an ugly furniture set to signal that I was grown up. However, it’s spring and a time to welcome new things into your life, and really just a great excuse to buy some really fun things for your apartment. And that’s exactly what happened – the brown side table hit the curb and a beautiful blue style from Target’s Threshold line took its place, in addition, to a new lamp to brighten that side of the room and a cool, gold picture frame earmarked for a wedding photo as soon as they come in.
Target Threshold is the right mix of classic and modern. An effortless elegance. Beautiful, yet affordable. Designed for a lifetime of housewarmings. It’s everything you’ll love about your home.

It all started three summers ago standing on a corner near the Spitalfields Market. Clad in head-to-toe prints and a white leather jacket, she rocked a topknot bun with ease (long before the take home kits) and sported a brilliant pink lip. This stranger soon became my style icon.
From that day on, I have been experimenting with different ways to perfect her bright pink lip. Like its more glamorous big sister, the red lip, it takes a lot of prep not to look like Aunt Gladys from Home for the Holidays. The typical process starts with a lip exfoliant – Sugar in the Raw mixed with a mild face wash is a great at-home option – followed by a lip moisturizer. Then, one chapstick, followed by two lipsticks is applied to achieve that perfect bright pink hue.
The problem is, this process is crazy time consuming and almost impossible to pull off while crammed in the morning subway train (my daily routine). However, Maybelline has come to the rescue with their new Color Whisper Lip Color. Available in 20 bright hued shades, these lipsticks have the benefits of a moisturizing lip balm and provide the perfect dose of color. The secret is an ultra lightweight gel paired with pure color pigments. It’s ridiculously easy to apply and has actually taken the place of my signature lip balm on my desk – I no longer need to sit by a mirror and carefully apply my lipstick (apply, blot, repeat).
My favorite anytime shade is Petal Rebel and for those special evenings out I apply a top swipe of Maybelline’s Vivids Fucshia Flash.

Long Live the Printed Pant
I have a substantial addiction to the mighty printed pant. Wearing them, I feel as if I’m rocking a piece of artwork on my body, and as a bonus they make getting dressed in the morning super easy (white tee and blazer all the way)! This season is already proving to be torturous for me, it seems that every designer has made one printed pant more glorious than another, and really I just want them all. Expensive moving fees be damned!

Love Me Tender … Christian Louboutin Scuba Sandals
In preparation of spring and the impending trip across the pond I’ve been cleaning out my wardrobe for what seems like an eternity. Sorting through every corner and every box I own, I’ve noticed a big gap of one item in particular: heels, of any kind, stilettos, wedges, block, avant garde or otherwise. I’ve become such a smoking flat hoarder that I hadn’t even considered that the last time I purchased a pair of heels was about two years ago. Enter Christian Louboutin’s hot pink ‘Scuba’ sandals, which could be my big ticket item to break my streak.
