In the Sun: Best Natural Sunscreen
I am back in the city, and can’t say I’m particularly thrilled to be here. It will take some time adjusting to life without this view, huevos a la canasta everyday for breakfast, and late nights watching sea turtles lay their eggs in front of us.
Whenever Mr. SB and I travel to a tropical destination we’re not the sit and bake in the sun type of people, but play in the ocean, swim in the pool, go exploring, adventure types. Since, I’ve had one too many run-ins with precancerous melanomas layering up sunscreen is vital for me. Out of all the natural, non-chemical sunscreens I’ve tried Josie Maran’s Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Daily Face Moisturizer and Vive Sana Solar to Polar Ultra are my absolute favorites. Josie’s facial sunscreen is perfect for my combination & sensitive skin – we used it before and after we went snorkeling and it never burned our eyes or created irritation from the mask. Vive Sana is a thicker sunscreen, but it lasts for hours (although the recommended reapplication time is two hours), which is perfect for being active and getting in and out of the water.
Now, if I can only find an amazing scalp sunscreen. Anyone have any suggestions?
